Nobody seemed to pick up on the fact that what us fans were
referring to as S14 is actually going to be called S1.

I thought this would have the moaners frothing at the mouth... especially
as it's almost certainly done for Disney+ purposes. (They were hardly
going to start a new show on their service at Season 14 were they?) But everyone seems quiet about it.

I’m calling it season 40, following on from Special Season 4 (Special Season 1 was The Next Doctor through to The End of Time in 2009, Special Season 2 was Day of the Doctor / Time of the Doctor plus accompanying webisodes in 2013, and Special Season 3 was Eve of the Daleks through
Power of the Doctor in 2022. Defined by me as a set of transitional
specials leading to a regeneration, following on from a standard
season).
RTD and Disney can call it whatever they like. It’s their show now. And
in one pragmatic sense it is season one - the first season produced by
an independent company (Bad Wolf) and not the BBC.

Because nobody actually cares any longer. The 'Politically Correct'
idiots killed the real Doctor Who years ago.

How about we call it season 1D (for Disney)?
That lets them have their "1" and lets the rest of the world distinguish
it from the real Season 1.

It reminds me of when Marvel used to renumber a long running
comic book series so that we could have yet more issue #1's.

Yeah, calling it S1 after the 60th anniversary of the show seems a bit
mad but I do understand it. Doctor Who fans usually refer to eras of the
show by Doctor anyway so it'll probably be Ncuti Gatwa's first season,
second season (etc.) as opposed to Doctor Who S1, S2 ...

There's really only three actual eras ...
Original Era
Resurrected Era
Disney Era
each of which (re)started the season / series counter at 1.
You could also have a fourth era, the "Missing Years Era" where there
was no TV show.
Technically there is a fifth era or sub-era as well, the awful "Woke
Era" (or "Woke Error" since it was a huge mistake), but that didn't
restart the season numbering, and was partly in the "Resurrected Era"
and continues in the "Disney Era".
