I left the computer running some tasks and went to sleep. When I went to
use the computer again there was just a completely black screen with
just the pointer arrow showing. It responded to mouse movements and
nothing else.
I restarted the computer, the window manager was changed from KDE to an unknown window manager.
I created a user but the window manager did not change back to KDE.

Sounds like kde plasma is failing to start so it's falling back to icew=
Right click on the desktop for the menu iirc.'s
=20
Reboot, at the login screen double check the "Session" and make sure it=
set to Plasma, and then login.and
=20
If it still starts icewm instead, open a terminal from the desktop menu=
check the output of "journalctl -b --no-hostname" for obvious errors.
