I have a Billion modem router
BiPAC 7800NXL
and a printer scanner
Brother MFC-9340CDW
I thought I would connect the printer to the router and reduce the cable
load on the computer.
the next trick was to discover that the printer can be configured for
wired LAN - of course it can! TCP/IP DHCP all auto.
I thought the printer will be assigned an address, DHCP from the router.the printer, or router blocked the assignment.

My next trick will be to get a real Ethernet cable dump USB and try again.
And if Bits is lurking I can now dual boot MGA6 and MGA7.
But I have yet to rsync a backup of MGA7 to the spare partition

Do remember, you have setup your system as EFI and not legacy OS boot.
That means, you should also backup your efi partition.

I used the USB socket on the router because it was easy to just shift
the cable from the USB socket on the computer to the router/
