• Network unavailable after updating to kernel-desktop-6.6.74.-mga9

From Jim Beard@2:250/1 to All on Sat Feb 1 17:13:54 2025
I ran urpmi set up to automatically update with new rpms available
on my main workstation running Linux 6.6.65-desktop-2.mga9 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC.

Reboot hung for 2 or 3 minutes with the name of my laser printer,
but that happens regularly and eventually boot completes.

Reboot completed, gnome loaded, but Network unavailable. Router and
ethernet cable work fine for another machine, so it
seems to be a hardware problem or the kernel update has
    messed up something.

Anyone having a network unavailable problem after updating to
to the 6.65.74-1 desktop kernel ?

    Cheers!

After tinkering around a bit trying to pin down the problem,
network became available and all seems to be working.

    Apologies for contributing noise.

You have my deepest sympathies The dreaded boot hang failure.
I especially (like) the one where the desktop fails to startup and one
is left with that cold gripping feeling in the gut and the CLI prompt
With some message about logging and correcting the problem

And on top of that, intermittencies really suck
