Can someone tell me what the real advantage is of putting your callsign
on your license plate? Besides advertising where you live, provided you didn't give the FCC a PO box when you got your license. My states
charges the same fee for a ham plate as they do for a standard plate.

No advantage ... however, a little pride and a really cool vanity plate.
That's what I thought. I have read that some states waive the
registration fee all together for ham operators. Even still, not sure
I'd give the common citizen my address in case he/she wasn't so
impressed with my driving.
Then don't drive like an idiot. I've had ham plates for nearly 20 years without any issue so I don't see why you're droning on about this moot point...Mr. Dennis, sir, I am far from droning. I am asking the opinion of others for persective. Simply seeking counsel (Proverbs 15:22).
