  • Scaling (fill) patterns in GIMP

    I came across this script

    on the registry website. Upon downloading and saving it in

    C/Users/[username]/.gimp-2.8/scripts

    I do not see it anywhere even if I get out of GIMP and
    start a new session. Also I do not get what the author
    means by

    " You can access the script by right clicking on a pattern and
    selecting "Scale Pattern..." "

    What does he mean by " ... right clicking on a patter"?
    A pattern in the dialog box? Or in a GIMP window?

    In any case, right clicking does not bring up scale_pattern
    anywhere.

    Would greatly appreciate any help on this ....

    I don't use this script, but before downloading and trying it,
    try this

    do a right click on the name of the layer box and somewhere in the
    list you must see "Scale Pattern..."

    Thanks! I use the patterns directly out of the toolbox window, and
    this does not work there. Then it hit me to try having a Layers tab
    in the Layers/Channels/Paths/.... window.

    And yes, there it was when I right clicked on layer pattern dialog
    box.

    Thanks again for pointing out the simpler solutuion.

    window, but on right clicking on a pattern, I only see "Open
    Pattern as Image", "Copy Pattern Location", a grayed out
    "Delete Pattern" and "Refresh Patterns". No option for
    scaling ...

    What am I doing wrong this time?

    Thanks for the reply. I think that back in April, when you wrote

    I did see it without any trouble. I was not using paths -- just
    the patterns dock.

    I must also add that I have changed computers since then. I
    used to have Windows 7; now I have Windows 10 with
    GIMP 2.8.4.

    I have held off from moving to GIMP 10 as there were some
    posts in this NG about it not doing some things right.
