I may not give a damn about Epic Game Store sales, but their free
games? Gimme gimme gimme! This week we get two. They are:
* Earthlock
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/earthlock-e7d979
This one is a JRPG-style adventure game. Fine if you like the genre
(I'm not crazy about it), although it has that common Indie issues: a
general lack of polish (uneven difficulty, weird mini-games,
lackluster story). But it's fairly pretty (given its retro aesthetic)
and has some interesting ideas. Not a game to ever buy, but free? Why
not?

* Surviving the Aftermath >https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/surviving-the-aftermath
This is a pleasant little story about love and puzzle solving in a >family-friendly, picturesque village. Oh, no, wait. It's the total
opposite of that. It's a top-down strategy city-builder where you (get
this!) try to survive in an apocalyptic future. Some neat ideas but
very rough in actual gameplay, with many unfinished ideas and
mechanics. It's a game that should be a lot more fun than it is.
