Have fun Justisaur! Should be nice and cool; watch out for grizzlies!

I don't think there are any USENET clients for mobile.

I am using a modded version of the PiaoHong newsreader someone on the >>Italian usenet has put online. It fixes some of the bugs the original
has and makes it actually useful as a reader.
It's not my favorite way of accessing stuff, but it works when on the road. >>
There was a thread about it on news.readers a few months ago.
There used to be one called Groundhog news a few years ago, but that
one is no longer updated.
Of course those are all for Android. I think there's at least one current >>IPhone reader, but I don't know much about it.
NewsTap for IOS remains the premier NNTP software for iPhones/iPads. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/newstap-usenet-newsreader/id292410356
Of course, given the dearth of options, that's not /quite/ the praise
you might expect. It's not the most functional newsreader, but for
basic reading --especially on fairly low-volume newsgroups like this
one-- it gets the job done. I don't think its been updated in a while
but AFAIK it's still available for purchase and still runs on modern
versions of the operating system. But while it runs on the iphone,
it's interface isn't really suited their smaller screens, so I'd
recommend a tablet.
Or just bring a laptop with a cellular dongle.
Of course, Alaska isn't renowned for its incredible cellular coverage,
and I suspect anyone going there for vacation isn't going to linger in
the few areas of the state that are well served. Plus, it could be
that Justisaur is going there to purposefully escape the lure of the
online world. Either way, typical mobile access probably won't be
something too useful.

I don't have one :( then again, I usually take my laptop while
travelling and keep everything saved locally just for that purpose.

Oh yeah, going to the ends of the earth to escape everything.

I don't think it would be physically possible to live where I am without
air conditioning in the summer. I know people used to do it, but then
tons of people would drop dead every summer too, and it still happens if there's power outages. Solar would be great to keep that happening.

In the UK there really isn't any need for them in houses but I do
remember when I visited my brother in Dallas, then you did. One thing I didn't understand was yes have the AC on but do you really need it so
low that I now feel the need to put a jumper on and my legs still feel
cold as I'm wearing shorts. Then it was back outside and the heat felt
even more oppressive.

Certainly is but they do seem rather pointless now pretty much every
phone has a hotspot capability.
True, though the hotspot can be slow sometimes..

It is part of Texas culture to support the oil industry. Using as much electricity as possible so more natural gas has to be burned for power
is an aspect of that religion. :P

It's better than nothing. Even smartphones can be slow like in rural areas. :(

I'm back! ...with Covid again.
I see I missed a plethora of free games, none I was really interested in
or already had anyway.
Drowsy, will have to finish catching up later.

Well hope you're feeling better soon. I got it for the first time about
six weeks ago and it was a bit strange as very much feeling under the
weather but it was only when I was feeling a little better that I tested positive. A few days later, negative again.

I do go outside to get fresh air, over a mile walk almost daily,
yardworks, etc. Far away, rarely. In fact, I am going to break my 13
days streak of not going out far soon. ;)
