I haven't been following the Fallout London stuff, but I just read about
it and have a question. I have Fallout 4 on Steam, but am I to
understand that edition is not going to work with "London". I need the
GOTY edition? I don't see that edition on Steam.

So, I have to go to GOG? I used to like that GOG, But I hate Galaxy. I
    moved my stuff from there.

    TY

No, you don't need to buy it from GOG.
(and even if you do, you don't actually need to use Galaxy. Just
download the installer directly from the GOG website).

You CAN use "Fallout London" with the Steam version of "Fallout 4". It
just takes a few more steps to achieve because the Steam version of
"Fallout 4" automatically applies the "Next Gen" content patch, and
you need to reverse that first.

Note that you must own ALL of the DLC expansions for "Fallout 4". This
means you either need to own the original, base game and have
individually purchased the "Far Harbor", "Nuka-World", Contraptions Workshop", Vault-Tec", "Wasteland Workshop" and "Automatron" DLC, or
own the Game-of-the-Year edition (which has all the DLC included).

If you want to use "Fallout London" with the Steam version, here are
the instructions at their most basic:

    1) download and install "Fallout 4" (plus all DLC) on
Steam. A clean install is recommended; if you do have
    mods, remove them.
    2) download the Fallout London executables from the GOG
    web site
    3) download and run the "downgrader" tool from NexusMods
    https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4london/mods/1
(you can also downgrade manually; that page has
instructions but the tool is easiest)
    4) Run the Fallout London installer you downloaded
in step 3. Point it towards your Fallout 4
    installation directory
    5) Play.

Using the GOG version saves you a few steps.

TL;DR: if you already own Fallout 4 GOTY on Steam, just use that.
There's no need to spend an extra $40USD on GOG.
    (sorry GOG!)

Spalls, thank you so much. I've got a couple of the expansions I got
from Steam. This sounds like a lot of hassle for something I didn't care
about all that much.I think after all the other Fallout games in the
series, I did tire of the post-nuclear themes.

They were selling FO4 GOTY for $15 right as FO London was released,
I'm sure it will hit that price again at some point in the future.

I didn't even attempt to load it yet, because I can only imagine the
bugs.. and I'm still working through FO 76.

And besides unless you spend hours trying to follow the unremarkable
stories within it (I don't, I typically space bar through the dialog
as its a waste of life otherwise), Fallout is pretty much Fallout.

I will try FO London at somepoint though. I figured whenever I do get
the urge, FO4 GOTY won't be on sale anywhere so better to lock in the
    discount while I could.

The tool requires your Steam pw.

    Ummmm... No.

I did all of it. It worked perfectly. It was a bit of a pain but took
about 20 minutes. It was when a destructive install of the mod was about
to occur that I just bought it from GOG. I'm still playing Far Harbor, so
I'd rather leave my Steam install alone.

But I would not recommend to anyone that they share their Steam account credentials with complete strangers. Ever.

I cannot stress this enough, folks: DO NOT use the downgrade tool. You
never know, and I don't know how they're getting past SteamGuard, but
    most people have it up.

    That's some real bad mojo.
