Epic's being all super-secretive about what its next free games will
be again. This used to be because the games they were offering were
going to be really cool and something everyone wanted. But more
recently, they've been hiding terrible games too. Which is it this
week? Well, thanks to our crack team of investigative web-surfers, I
can report that the games on offer are...
* Dead Island 2

The sequel to that game the game that disappointed
everybody because it wasn't "Dying Light". "Dead Island"
(and its sequel) is a looter-shooter zombie-game...
although perhaps looter-basher is more accurate since
there is more emphasis on melee weapons than guns. It's
okay, I suppose. It's biggest problem is how generic it
feels; it doesn't do much new. If you're desperate to
whack zombies on the head in a tropical setting with
a sledgehammer, I guess the game is for you. But you'll
probably have more fun with "Dying Light" or "Dead
Rising".
* Happy Game

Yet another platform-adventure made by the same team
who made "Machinarium", "Chuchel" and a bunch of other
games recently offered free on Epic. Expect the usual
cutesy tone and surreal visuals. I guess they're good
games; they're just nothing I'm interested in. But free
is hard to resist.
Well, those were certainly worth keeping top-secret, right? Right?
Next week we'll get different games, but until then you have seven
days to decide if you want to add these to your library.
