Caveat emptor: it's GameSpot after all so needless to say you should
take it with with a train of salt but I'm not gonna lie, I'm more
excited for this patch than any other game so far this year.

Side note: CD Projekt RED made an announcement the other day* about
how the patch is /so/ resource-consuming that you'd better make sure
your PC's cooling system is up to snuff as it will "use all what you
have".
Which is an odd boast to make. Yes, they want to point out that their
engine will render cutting-edge visuals, but the whole, "hey, this
game is so resource intensive it might make your PC crash" isn't
really the humble-brag they think it is. Especially for an engine that
was plagued with performance issues on its launch.
Then again, CD PRojekt RED (and subsidiary GOG) have /always/ had
problematic communications, with their odd sense of humor rarely
resulting in the hoped-for effect.
Yes. But can it run Crysis?Probably in one of the many in game screen terminals!

"rarely" being the key word here, who could ever forget their closing of
the GOG digital store prank as a "publicity stunt" that, as it turned
out, worked pretty darn well proving once again that there's no such
thing as bad publicity. All joking aside I'll be eternally grateful to
them for having brought the Infinity engine games back from the dead, so
to speak. Among many other classics, to be sure.
I have just downloaded the CP2077 2.0 patch (PS5) and started a new playthrough as a female Nomad, the VA is so much better than the male
one, thank goodness (I'm loving Cherami Leigh's voice) I really couldn't stand the male counterpart and the nomad start is incredibly well done I thought.
I'm about 2 hours in and pleasantly surprised so far - driving
feels good, no glitches of any kind yet and the gameplay in general
seems smoother but maybe that's just me. I just wish there was a way to adjust the FOV, it should be absolutely mandatory in every 3D game - be
it First or 3rd person.
"All NPCs now scale to your level. Enemy difficulty is no longer
dependent on what area of Night City you're in."
Hmm, it's too early to tell but I'm probably not going to like this
feature. Some (most? all?) of my favorite games (like Piranha Bytes') understandably don't have that - if the enemies just go up with you,
what exactly is the point of leveling up?
But I digress, back to Night City :)

That would make the 2.0 update worthwhile, IMO. It would be a great
inside joke.

Is it really an "inside joke" at this point?
Too wrapped up in Baldurs' Gate 3 right now. I do very much want to do aSpeaking of, BG Patch 3, a big one is coming today.
new playthrough of CP2077 with the new patch though.
Strong agree on that. I played all three origins, and both male and
female. I didn't play a female nomad, but female voice is infinitely
better, and nomad is by far my favorite origin. The only downside to
the female is no romancing the Panam.

If they made driving good that's a huge improvement. Even with mods,
and having played it only a few months ago driving was garbage.

Ugh, yeah. I don't care for that. Witcher 3 has the option to do
that if you want. If they just make it an option like their other
game, then that's fine, but by default, no.

There's a mod for that!

Can't mod on PS5 :( I thought the driving was fine before as well, it
was just a matter of getting the hang of the very peculiar physics of
the engine. I got used to it rather quickly, though. I don't drive in
first person (cockpit view), by the way - third (overhead) is not only better but quite enjoyable.

I can't think of a single game I've played with level scaling, but I'm
sure that have been quite a few over the years. Didn't know W3 had an
option for that, I'm planning to play the DLC's after I'm done with CP2077.

games have never grabbed me - this may be the reason, even if subconsciously.
The last one I've played and actually liked was RedGuard, believe it or
not, but it was mostly an adventure game with almost no RPG elements
that I can remember (it's been a minute).
Skipped Daggerfall for some reason - I think the idea of procedurally generated maps put me off at the time - and I liked Morrowind when it
first came out but stopped playing it at some point due to a major bug
and just never went back. I couldn't get into Oblivion and Skyrim
despite many, many tries and several different mods. Fallout 3 was okay
for a while but something shinier came along (GTA IV I think) and that
was that. Put in about 10 hours into F4 recently (for the second time!)
and it was even worse than I remembered.
Needless to say I won't be buying Starfield even on a deep sale, the gameplay videos I've watched since release have done nothing but confirm
my deep rooted dislike for Bethesda titles.
