    Great!

Now I have got much more familiar with the recent upstream development
work I no longer feel that a trip through 'experimental' is needed for
this version so I have revised the changelog to release to 'unstable' instead, if that is ok with you?

It's your call, though please consider that you're packaging from a
commit rather than a release. Could you please confirm that you want to
    upload to unstable?

An upstream release would be preferred but they seem to be fairly
arbitrary: the last tag was cut immediatedly after accepting a new PR
from me and the maintainer went on to release a subsequent untagged
commit of his own upstream to openSuSE! After my predecessor's
experience I decided I would not prompt about upstream releases! https://github.com/thkukuk/wtmpdb/issues/13 :-)

so I chose this commit to package because my priority is doing the right
thing for people upgrading from Bookworm and I think they are owed the
ability to import their old logs, so yes, please to upload to unstable!

    thanks,

    Andrew

    Ack.

I noticed that the package doesn't have a d/tests/control for
autopkgtest, even though upstream provides some (basic) tests, so I've attempted to make the changes necessary to run these tests with
autopkgtest at [1]. Please have a look when you can.

Excellent, thanks! I have checked this and pushed it to the branch.

I want to write a system autopkgtest when I get the chance but it didn't
occur to me that there was additional value in re-running the supplied
tests with the installed library package.
