    Package: grub-efi-amd64
    Version: 2.12-6
    Severity: critical
    Justification: breaks the whole system

    Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading GRUB to version 2.12-6, the system fails to boot, the
    boot menu
    does not appear at all.

However, using Super GRUB2 Disk to boot and then downgrading to
    version 2.12-5
    restores normal functionality.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help diagnose the
    issue.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

do you get a complete black screen instead of the boot menu or is there something printed?

Can you try a "set debug=all" at the top of /boot/grub/grub.cfg?
If then something is shown please attach a picture of the messages.

    Hi Felix,

    Thanks for your reply.

I get a completely black screen with no output at all, even after
    adding "set
debug=all" at the top of "/boot/grub/grub.cfg".

Let me know if there's anything else I can try.

    Hi KeyofBlueS,

there's a hidden debug-image option to grub-install which you could
    try:

    # grub-install --debug-image=all

    Then hopefully something is displayed
