Thank you for the hint. I inspected that site and need to admit
its a bit hard to track the upstream source automatically. Thus
I have opened the following ticket:

Title: Download versioned tarball or Git repository

    Hi,
I try to update the ddate Debian package to the latest upstream
version. The package is based on the Github repository
    https://github.com/bo0ts/ddate/
Unfortunately this repository has the latest tag 0.2.2 while I can
find later tags here. The problem is that this web page does not
provide some versioned tarball for downloading the whole source archive.
Alternatively I could easily live with some Git repository featuring
tags to download the source code automatically. It would be great if
you could provide one of this options.

Possibly it makes sense to link from the old Github repository to the
new location to lead users here.

    Kind regards, Andreas.

Sebastian, For your information: I have created a repository for ddate
on Salsa, which you can find here:

    https://salsa.debian.org/debian/ddate

If there is any response from upstream, I would be happy if you could
take over from there. In case upstream replies to the ticket and I don't
hear from you within the next 21 days, I intend to do an NMU of your
package, updating the Vcs field to Salsa. Please let me know if this is
    OK for you.

The Package Salvage team is currently working on moving packages to
Salsa to facilitate team maintenance and collaborative workflows. This
is purely intended as a supportive effort. Of course, if you prefer to
continue maintaining the package on your own, that is completely fine.

Please also let me know if you would like me to move the repository out
of the Debian/ team, which would allow other team members to contribute,
or if you would prefer not to maintain the package in Git at all. If the
latter is the case, I will remove the repository completely.

    Looking forward to your thoughts.

    Kind regards
    Andreas.
