    Description : Bash Line Editor

Bash Line Editor (ble.sh) is a command line editor written in pure Bash which replaces the default GNU Readline, enabling syntax highlighting, auto suggestions, vim modes, etc. in Bash interactive sessions.

Besides, Atuin (already in Debian) needs ble.sh or bash-preexec to work on Bash. Atuin's documentation states that ble.sh is better supported.

ble.sh hasn't released a new tag since 2023; however it is being actively developed, so tracking Git HEAD until new release.
