• Bug#1086675: libelf-dev 0.192 is unusable for static linking

From Josh Seba@21:1/5 to All on Mon Apr 7 17:10:02 2025
Bumping this, as Trixie is nearing the soft-freeze date and this still
    hasn't been fixed with 2
reports, this one and #1102039. I don't know if elfutils is strictly part
    of the toolchain freeze
or not, but being toolchain adjacent, with a rather nasty linking bug
    that's already fixed
upstream, I'm not sure if a new version would be pulled in even if a new version were to
    be released.

Can someone grab this patch before the freezes and merge it in?

    Thanks,

    Dear Maintainer,

A commit needs to be backported to make libelf-dev usable for static
    linking:

    Debian Release: trixie/sid

    APT policy: (500, 'testing')

    Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash

Versions of packages libelf-dev depends on:
    ii libelf1t64 0.192-4
    ii libzstd-dev 1.5.6+dfsg-1+b1
    ii zlib1g-dev 1:1.3.dfsg+really1.3.1-1

    libelf-dev recommends no packages.

    libelf-dev suggests no packages.
