    Dear mentors,

    I am looking for a sponsor for my package "gnome-shell-extension-frippery":

    * Package name : gnome-shell-extension-frippery
    Version : 48.0-1
    Upstream contact : Ron Yorston <rmy@pobox.com>
    * URL : https://frippery.org/extensions/
    * License : GPL-2+
    * Vcs : https://salsa.debian.org/twolife/gnome-shell-extension-frippery
    Section : gnome

    ---
    Vcs is currently in my namespace on Salsa, but I will gladly move it to gnome-team/shell-extensions/ if it fits the GNOME Team
    ---

    The source builds the following binary packages:
    gnome-shell-extension-applications-menu
    gnome-shell-extension-bottom-panel
    gnome-shell-extension-move-clock
    gnome-shell-extension-panel-favorites

    To access further information about this package, please visit the
    following URL:
    https://mentors.debian.net/package/gnome-shell-extension-frippery/

    Alternatively, you can download the package with 'dget' using this command:

    dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-shell-extension-frippery/gnome-shell-extension-frippery_48.0-1.dsc

    ---
    A small note about the absence of the d/u/metadata file:
    upstream doesn't provide any public Vcs, no public Bug-Database,
    no specific Documentation/FAQ/Donation/whatever URL, ...
    I have nothing to put in this file.
    ---

    Changes for the initial release:

    Sébastien,

    I suggest naming the source package gnome-shell-frippery. This matches
    the upstream tarball naming and what other distros have done. https://repology.org/project/gnome-shell-frippery/versions

    If you agree, I can create the Salsa repo for you under the Debian
    GNOME team shell-extensions subproject. And I can sponsor the initial
    upload for you.

    You can also close https://bugs.debian.org/648485 with your upload.
    People have been wanting this to be packaged for a long time!

    It's too late for this package to make it into Debian 13, but it could
    be accepted into Unstable. https://release.debian.org/testing/freeze_policy.html#soft

    Thank you,
    Jeremy Bícha

    +1, let' not diverge if we don't need to

    Sure, let's do that

    And I can sponsor the initial upload for you.

    That would be great :-)

    Damned I missed that RFP...

    We very recently added this code snippet to most of the packaged GNOME
    Shell extensions to make it simpler to keep debian/control up to date.
    Do you want to take a look at doing something similar here?
