• Bug#1103868: gawk: Please upgrade to 5.2.2 which undeprecates the time

    Dear Maintainer,

Please upgrade this package to at least version 5.2.2 (current version is 5.2.1)
so that users can use the strptime function from the built-in (and now undeprecated) time package.

See https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-gawk/2023-05/msg00002.html for the 5.2.2 release notes. Quote:

    Changes from 5.2.1 to 5.2.2
    ---------------------------

    ...

    6. The time extension is no longer deprecated. The strptime() function
from gawkextlib's timex extension has been added to it.

    Documentation: https://www.gnu.org/software/gawk/manual/html_node/Extension-Sample-Time.html.

This bug would be superseded by bug #1067078 (title: "Please upgrade to 5.3.0 which has CSV support"). I'd prefer that one to be resolved as I also sometimes need CSV support.

    Thank you for your maintenance,

    -Nicolas
