• Bug#1105828: mpd: snapcast plugin does not bind to port

    From Kevin Otte@21:1/5 to All on Thu May 15 20:10:01 2025
    Package: mpd
    Version: 0.24.3-1
    Severity: normal

    Dear Maintainer,

    The snapcast plugin is not binding to a port when activated.
    From my mpd.conf:

    audio_output {
    type "snapcast"
    name "Snapcast"
    format "44100:16:2"
    #port "1704"
    #bind_to_address "::"
    zeroconf "no"
    }

    The commented lines represent the defaults, but I still see no binding even when those lines are declared with any value.

    What does "activate" mean?

    The output only binds to a port when it is enabled. Can you confirm
    that you did enable this output? Post data to back your assertion.
