My guess is that info identifying man and where/how he found the gold coins is vague. That's because, after finding the gold, he consulted knowledgable others about how to avoid taxes and claims by others. Probably he/they decided where they could move
the gold to claim it with the least complication by others, government agencies, etc.. Obvious alternative might be to sell the coins separately and quietly, pocketing the money.
My scheme is not too clever, possibly inspired by what treasure hunters have had to do with finds from shipwrecks. If you use a metal detector on land you can search, then find something, might want to have a plan to conceal it and not pay taxes? Not
sure, but bet there's a considerable trafficking of such booty. Irony is that you may be in the position of having to hide your found gold like the one who hid it.
