Indeed it is. Maybe five years ago I showed it to my than 90 year old
mother who I believe had never seen it. We agreed it was stupid, but it had Bogart and Bacall and she enjoyed it anyway, which helped me enjoy it too.

One could say the same for The Big Sleep.

Many (most?) of these are pretty damn stupid. But in at least a "Mystery >Science Theater 3000" vein, we manage to enjoy even the stupidest quite a bit!

I saw Night Nurse AND Baby Face during the past week. Baby Face is really something. She had a "something", a veracity that comes right through the camera with or without good dialogue or anything else. She really had "sell".

    Purchase Price then...

Of course they do. But then some constantly remind you of that suspension, making it hard to sustain. Good, bad--whatever: I have a great time with these old movies.

Watching her last theatrical release, The Night Walker. One other I would recommend is Jeopardy.

I was thinking more along the lines of continuity and holes in the
script that require the viewer to overlook them. Made obvuous in some
of the slasher films among many others; there is even a commercial
spoofing them, "Quick, let's all go to the cemetery. We'll be safe
    there!". Asinine coincidences.

Thinking about the older movies, I guess I like the naive films better than I do the clumsily formulaic. It's a refined taste, watching the oldest surviving movies!

Yes: Very entertaining. I think George Brent is the most generic actor perhaps in the history of film. If not he's certainly in the running for most forgettable. I can't imagine why he got cast again and again...
