I had "Notorious" this recorded on my DVR though I'm not a Hitchcock
fan. I was mostly curious to know if I had seen it, since I certainly
know the name. It takes place in Rio? Okay I'll see anything with just
    the *word* Brazil in it.

So the other night the wife and I, both pooped from a very hard day,
decided we needed a movie in English in hopes of not falling asleep in
    front of the TV. Again.

It was interesting enough to hold my attention, but so problematic: Unmotivated characters, unbelievable dialogue, impossible coincidences,
and the unrelenting rigidity of a Hitchcock movie. Jesus he's a
tight-ass. A hook in the nose for the viewer is just not good enough,
he's also got to have a harpoon in your ass to ensure total Simon-says
    with your attention.

Interesting "longest in history" kiss scene. Not so much for the kiss,
but for their parade through three rooms without losing the 2-foot span
from face to camera. Really false and odd. I think non-movieölogists
would say: "Hey look at with the camera is doing!" He does obsessive close-up thing a number of times where he just can't give it up and it becomes odd.

The scene with the three-foot high coffee-cup was a curiousity but I
didn't realize the cup was an optical illusion prop until Robert
    Osborne explained.

A couple of good long suspense scenes that do what Hitchcock does so
well. I found the end quite notable too, where there is a total of
about 8 seconds of silent denoument. Then CRASH! the movie's over.
Funny. I think the editor had a dinner date.
