• A Futile and Stupid Gesture (2018)

From Bill Anderson@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jun 21 07:56:28 2022
It’s on Netflix and it’s a biopic of Doug Kenney, co-founder of the National Lampoon magazine and father of the kind of comedy that shapes our entertainment today. (Well, the movie does make that case pretty well.).
Among other things he gave us ANIMAL HOUSE and CADDYSHACK and lost the not ready for prime time players to Lorne Michaels. Martin Mull plays Kenney as
he would have appeared had he lived to the present and serves as the
movie’s narrator. To me, a huge fan Kenner’s style of humor at the time, the movie was fascinating and so very funny. It was a great loss to the
world of entertainment when Doug Kenny crashed and burned. Don’t do drugs, kids.

I watched the trailer and read the article. It looks like a good bio-pic.
