In eighteenth-dynasty Egypt, Sinuhe, a poor orphan, becomes a brilliant physician and with his friend Horemheb is appointed to the service of the new Pharoah. This summary is spot on. The movie covers several decades of the most tumultios part of ancient Egypt's history. Great sets and costuming. The script is pretty good except at the end which has way to much Cristian messaging.
Just watched it on TCM in its original aspect ratio, a most enjoyable film.
