can anyone sort out all the info I've read concerning the notchy hard shifting I am experiencing?
I'm on my second VW Corrado G60 (1990) and both didn't shift worth a
@#$(%... It's hard to get it into first gear and loves to go straight to
3rd from 1st (when I can find 1st).
Some people talk about syncros being bad, others talk of using synthetic lubes to help, also have read about short shift kits with counter weights
and even updated clutches that use Ni or Cd plated spines to help. I'm not a mechanic, but for once I would love to have a smooth shifter like my old VW GTI (86).
If there is an update how do I know I need it? and how much? and if you can give me some answers to the others questions I would greatly appreciate your help.

Dont know if it's the same as my SLC but a circlip broke off the bar under the shifter that is slides on (hard to explain...you pull the plastic
piece the shifter is on and it's right under) which caused this problem
and eventually broke one of the plastic (*mutter*) linkages on top of the gearbox...only when I was adjusting everything after putting on the new linkage did I notice the circlip groove without a circlip...
hope this helps
