All- state alloys had a solder that worked on zinc but I don't recall
what the product number is/was. Try a local welding supply dealer and
see what they can get a hold of.

I realize that this is a very old post, however much better than any type of glue or even solder is welding. Yes, welding pot metal is very possible - I do it on a daily basis. You see, I am a retired auto restorationist and delt with a lot of pot
Long story short, I developed a way to weld pot metal and for the last 6 years I've been restoring old broken pot metal and spelter parts with a near 100% success rate. In 6 years, I've had only a handful of parts that couldn't be restored, and those50% of them I made new identical parts.
