The year for Prof Longhair is from what I wrote down from the liner notes, as I recall, of the Rounder Collectors Choice feat. Prof Longhair LP. I no longer have the LP. Could be wrong, though, it's been 20 years. RIP label is correct. The 'Twistin'
flip side could indicate anywhere from 60 to 62. Check on the list of any of the other songs on the LP and see if they're as late as 62. The LP is on discogs. Anyway I trust you more than my memory.

I have both of these as 1958

In the case of The Slades it really has to be 1958 since the Shields cover of "You Cheated" was a big hit that year

And--like Bruce--I also prefer "The Waddle" (that WAS the A-side according to 45cat) to the more famous flip :)
