Billie Holiday in particular underperforms here. I nominated 2 of her
best (IMO) records and they both got kicked out.

That's because of the popish jazz style of her arrangements. I'm sure we all recognize her as a great singer. In the first contest we ever did my live TV version of "Fine And Mellow" made the FINAL FOUR.

I kind of expected the Fats Waller record would be bounced out. This
version of "Bumble Boogie" was ahead of its time, IMO. Although I love
Fats Waller's "The Joint Is Jumping" and "I Can't Give You Anything But
Love," I find a lot of his records very annoying...and this,
