surely has potential to reach Last 8 of an Obscurities contest?

    I wouldn't bet on it

Here's how she did in the 1955 Singles Battle

    R1
16 Dolly Cooper - Ay La Bah - Modern 965
4 Crazy Otto - Glad Rag Doll - Decca 29403

Almost anything is gonna beat that horrid Otto thing right?

    R2
19 The Moonglows - In My Diary - Chess 1611
5 Dolly Cooper - Ay La Bah - Modern 965

And in the later Fabulous Femmes Battle

    R1
    7 The Platters -- My Old Flame -- Mercury 71320 -- 1958
    6 Dolly Cooper -- Ay La Bah -- Modern 965 -- 1955

    Not exactly inspiring right?

"Ay La Bah" is a good record that I rate 7

The Moonglows above is also a 7 (but higher)

As also is the Platters "My Old Flame" with Zola Taylor lead.
(I probably like that one more than most people but I'm also a fan of the song itself)

Hard to say, Roger, because in an Obscurities contest the
opposition might not be as formidable?

    A high 7 for me.
