In Thunderbird, I can (and do) delete them all.  Yes, it's a pain in
the ass, but not as bad as having to see them.

Thanks for that. I didn't realize that.

I wonder if there's a way to filter TB so only posts by us regulars show.

    As recently posted,*there is*,Roger,if you or a 'friend' re-installed
Agent (costing only a one time US$29 for goodness sake) on any Windows
device that you use for newsgroup access.

(I do understand that getting to grips with Diane's preferred
but unknown to you,Thunderbird,is likely too much to ask,Roger)

yes, helpful Ken (an accountant) was using TB 1.5

but I don't think even Ken got into describing detailed steps within
an app that would solve a member's problem (I could be wrong)

off late, the 'bad' newsgroup authors are varied, so it might not be
practical to focus on filtering authors; one simply has to delete (or
move to another location) the offending posts

in Agent this is just a slight nuisance
. select block of recent 'bad' topics
. ctrl-click on any valid topic within block to remove from selection
. right-click on selection and select Delete or Move to Folder
