The flipside is definitely THE side here! But the original "Feelin' Sad" still rates a 7

Here's how it did in the 1952 Singles Battle

    PRELIM
    10 Eddie (Guitar Slim) Jones - Feelin' Sad - J-B 603
8 Little Mickey Champion - Lovin' Jim - Modern 855

    R1
    12 Les Paul & Mary Ford - I'm Confessin' - Capitol 2080
    10 Eddie (Guitar Slim) Jones - Feelin' Sad - J-B 603

The song was revived by Ray Charles on his Atlantic LP "Genius Sings The Blues" in 1961 followed by a 45rpm single release in 1962

Did you forget that it was first released as a single in 1953 backed with "Heartbreaker?"

    What about the Sha-Weez?

Yes,in November 1952 the Sha-Weez vocal group (there's a good write-up on them by the ever reliable Unca Marvy here)

    https://www.uncamarvy.com/Shaweez/shaweez.html

recorded four songs in New Orleans for Aladdin. Two were issued early in 1953 "No One To Love Me"/"Early Sunday Morning". That release was all the world ever heard from their session until.....

The early 70's----when amidst the flood of r&b vocal group "repro" singles now being pressed up in peoples bathrooms on the US east coast----an "Aladdin 45rpm single" appeared of the remaining two Sha-Weez tracks--"You Made Me Love You"/"Feelimg Sad".

And a pretty good version it was too. Here it is (and its a 7 on my 1952 list)

Pretty good, yes. A 6 for me, would have benefitted from a nice
    instrumental break.
