I was struck by how good looking the entire band seemed to be
    - not a Ringo Starr or Bill Wyman among them :-)

Nice enough rendition of the classic.

That's about the last song I would think needed a remake.

I always liked the original Dovells' "Bristol Stomp" but I don't like the version here nor do I recall it being a UK hit. It can't have charted very high

    Hmm, interesting, DianeE.

Thinking of some facially awkward looking but nevertheless
highly sexually attractive young adult females I've known in the past,
perhaps Ringo Starr's face was perceived as having voluptuous appeal
    by some females?

My simplistic *male* perception of the ranking of how good looking
each Beatle was in the 60s:

    1. gorgeous baby-faced Paul (perhaps not so appealing to females
who prefer a more macho Sean Connery look)

    2. George Harrison (much better looking then Bill Wyman)

    3. John Lennon - square-faced very plain...

    3. Ringo Starr - 'awkward' looking

Peaked at #40 in a 6 week run.

I thought George was downright ugly. I thought Paul looked like a
cartoon character. I agree with you about John, though.

Ringo sure didn't (and still doesn't) look awkward when he plays the
drums. He looks like he's in a flow state, like he's one with his
instrument. I get a thrill watching him. He also, in his youth, had
very soulful eyes. Puppy-dog eyes is another way of putting it.

As for the Rolling Stones, they had one conventionally handsome member,
Brian Jones. He died so long ago that I don't think most of the people
who go to Stones concerts even know he was in the band.
