    Years ago before I ever heard this I assumed Darlene McCrea had put out a version of the then-recent Aquatones hit of the same title. I was wrong in that but right I think,in my opinion that both "You" recordings were rather mundane undistinguished
    numbers

    Ethel Darlene McCrea had been in both the 1950's Cookies and Raelettes groups and was elder sister to Earl-Jean McCrea also of Cookies fame--but this time the later Dimension label version of that group--and she of the original solo "I'm Into Something
    Good".

    In 1959 writer and producer Teddy Vann had supervised a one off recording deal with Roulette for Darlene producing "You" and "You Made A Fool Of Me".

    In the 60's she made further recordings for Colpix and Jubilee. Sadly Darlene passed away in February 2013

    I like the Aquatones record. This McCrea thing is a piece of shite though.
