    Look what this is going for. You can hear both sides at the bottom of the listing. Top side is a very good ballad.

    This is new to me and you're right---top side is an excellent ballad that will make my 1964 list

    Now what's the label story on this one?

    I have it listed as Falco 308 but which I see is considered to many to be a later (than 1964) reissue (or even a boot) even tho the Falco 308 number fits in their numbering system as a supposed 1962 release. And my Kreiter also doesn't recognize this as
    a genuine release

    OTOH the Galaxy release info is correct (its number is one above Little Johnny Taylor's "I Smell Trouble" a definite 1964 release). My 1999 Kreiter values this Showcases at $3,000!

    Here's what a friend of mine had to say about the record:

    This record is a killer. I remember the first time I heard this when Jimmy Amato & Lou Silvani came back from the west coast after visiting Dave Antrell and played a tape of his super rare records on the R&B Review. Many of the records they played had
    never been heard before & later found their way onto that CD series, "A Million Dollars Worth of Doo Wop".

    I strongly believe many of the songs they played that made their way onto those CDs came from the show because the quality of these CDs sound like they came from a secondary source such as the radio.

    Re: "A Million Dollars Worth of Doo Wop", I have most of the tracks
    from CD Volumes 1 to 20 in my digital collection, acquired in 2010,
    likely from Usenet binaries.

    It seems neither Showcases' "This Love Was Real" or "Anna My Love"
    is part of this "Million Dollars" collection.

    I have one copy only of "Anna My Love" but it's good and much better
    than the Ebay link which I perceive to be harsh in sound quality even
    if you turn the volume down.

    My "This Love Was Real" copies are from 'albums' such as:

    . Unforgettable Doo Wops
    . 30 Rare Black Doo-Wop Sounds Vol. 25 {out of 50 Volumes}
    . Heavy On Doowop Vol. 5 {out of 10 Volumes}
    . Rare & Unreleased Group Harmony Gems Vol. 2 {out of 14 Volumes}

    Ugh....talking bridge.
    Personally I find it hard to believe this was recorded in 1964. It's
    very old-school, unlike the group harmony records I remember from that era.

    According to this site The Showcases indeed recorded this in early 1963

    http://doo-wop.blogg.org/showcases-c29244586

    They have personnel of the group as James Hubbard (Lead),Curtis Popps (Baritone),Tommy Johnson and Ulysses Coleman

    As well as the Galaxy release they apparently also recorded as Mr. Zulu & The Warriors on
    "Come On Duckie With Me"/"Anna (My Love)" (Score 7/11) in 1965

    And the site indicates the mysterious "Falco" release was a later legit reissue of the Galaxy single
