    nevertheless - a fact partly supported by Geoff having no copies in
    his digital collection and none of the postings (according to
    snippets) have very good audio quality

    Born Ronald James Padavona in 1942, Ronnie later became more
    famous as a heavy metal singer with Black Sabbath ("Heaven and Hell"
    album in 1980) and with Dio ("Holy Diver" album in 1983). Over time

    Firstly I don't like it at all - just ordinary teen shlock that I'd never play a second time

    Secondly it can't be near as rare as you say since I've seen copies several times at different locations during various US trips

    Thirdly the "What'd I Say" on the flip is every bit as dire as someone who hasn't heard it might imagine

    How did it chart?
    I'd like to hear a VG 45 or CD studio copy and compare with YT
    postings. Perhaps the Seneca label issued 45s with suspect audio
    quality?

    I haven't even attempted to hear this. I've presumed it's the RC song
    which I'm not keen on - I do very much like some of RC's other sides
    (eg Lonely Avenue).

    Roger, imo it's not ordinary, yet alone shlock - a word of Yiddish
    origin no doubt aimed at impressing your decades long pals Bruce,

    Among countless teen cusp records, "An Angel is Missing" is not just
    GOOD, it's relatively GREAT :-)

    Roger, your tastes are influenced by your background - semi-black
    working-class - meaning you just don't relate to the musical tastes of
    white folk with a middle-class upbringing who can afford the luxury of
    being 'idealistically dreamy' when listening to music.

    In "An Angel is Missing" it's ethereal dreaminess is greatly advanced
    by that background female chorus.

    By the way, from what I gather from history, it was mainly young men
    from the Brit middle-class who bravely piloted the Spitfires and
    Hurricanes that defeated the German Luftwaffe in The Battle Of Britain
    in World War II. (Yes, there were also many brave pilots from allied
    nations, eg Poles, in the RAF at the same time).
    What I'm suggesting, is that many of these fighter pilots would have
    liked "An Angel is Missing", so to speak.
