• Re: "Roots Rock Radio" returns to the airwaves!

Today's show started with "Don't Be Angry" and ended with "Sleepwalk."
I had a difficult afternoon and those familiar sounds helped me get back
on an even keel. Well, except for Jack Scott :)

    after 4 months:

    http://wrtc.streamrewind.com/index.php
select: 04:00 PM Rock: Roots Rock Radio

the first record played in full is Duane Eddy's "Moovin' N' Groovin'",
then Nappy Brown's "Don't Be Angry", on Savoy in 1955 and 1961,
    then Chuck Berry ...

closing with The Mellokings, Little Anthony and The Imperials, and,
as our DianeE kindly informs, Santo and Johnny

Yes, "Little Queenie." I guess I tuned in at 4:03--I didn't hear the
Duane Eddy. BTW the Jack Scott record was "Midgie."

In general, I'm not a fan of Jack Scott -

born Giovanni Domenico Scafone, Jr. (1936-2019)
in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Italian-American parents.
"When he was 10, his family moved {across the river} to Hazel Park,
a Detroit suburb. He grew up listening to hillbilly music and was
taught to play the guitar by his mother, Laura."

But I like listening to these Jack Scott sides:

    Two Timin' Woman [ABC-P 9860] - 1957

    Bella [Carlton 504;b-side] - 1959

Oh, Little One [Top Rank Int. 2041] - 1960

I have 140+ different song Jack Scott mp3s; if I listened to all of
these I might find a few more likes :)

Try doing your own radio show, hotshot (and keeping it on the air for
more than just one measly year).

Been there, done that. My show was on for like 26 months. It became too
much to drive across the Tappan Zee Bridge every Sunday night after
DJing in a club the prior 4 nights (Wed-Sat) every week. Also, I was
married back then and she was not too happy with me choosing to be out
of the house on Sunday night after I had been out Wed thru Sat every
    week.
