Geoff, now that Google Groups is defunct, how are you able to peruse
    posts from 21 years ago?

If I wanted to read my own posts from way in the past, how would I do
it? Nova BBS only goes back 2 years.

Google Groups History and Search still works - for instance, just now
searching for "a lousy song evoking nostalgia" it found the whole
    topic within seconds.

Anyway, I'm looking at posts stored on my device within the Usenet app
Agent. The posts came from my Usenet provider and go back to July
2003. If I had done this in earlier years my readily readable posts
could likely have gone back to the beginning of this newsgroup )-:

(I notice some of DianeE's posts within a topic, responded to by
others, are not always there [I haven't checked with Google Groups],
perhaps because that X or whatever thingy was used)

When I lost my Free Agent connection where I could look back to the late
1990's thru all my old newsgroup posts in date order I thought all was
    lost.

    Fortunately not.

I can still access them (not not quite so easily)---via Google Groups

    OK first off go to
    https://groups.google.com/g/rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1950s

You want the "Conversations" box at the very top (but you may need to
    input personal data to access)

You then just fill in the name of the poster, the post title and a few
words of the subject matter of the material you want---and then you
should get a host of posts come up hopefully including the one(s) you're looking for

And it reaches back an awful lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way in finding posts

    P.S Di,you MAY have a problem yourself tho---from memory didn't you
sometimes block your old personal posts from being stored?

Thanks, gentlemen. I had forgotten about that x-no-archive feature. It
was so long ago! That's probably going to prevent me from finding what
I'm looking for, but I'll give it a try anyhow.

Even if you don't find your original posts Google should find any other
posts in the same threads if such were made.

If I answered any posts of yours its a fair bet that I also quoted your original post.

I imagine the same would apply with several other members
