• Question on HTML/or other Playlists

From Steve Mc@21:1/5 to All on Fri Jun 28 11:38:00 2024
Way back in the old days, Winamp v. 222 had a feature that allowed you
to save a playlist as an HTML file.

It was a nice feature whenever I wanted to printout or share the
    playlist in words.

    I tried DL'ing Winamp 222, but it's not compatible with Windows 10.

Does anybody know of any other MP3 player that can export a playlist
into an HTML file, or a text/word file ?

    Thanks

Fwiw, Winamp 5.63, released 2012, is compatible with Windows 10 and
can generate an HTML file - using Sel and Misc buttons at bottom of
    PLaylist.

    Similarly, Winamp v5.8 build 3660 from 2018: https://winamp-classic.en.softonic.com/download
(simply X any pop-ups after clicking green Download button)
this will download an 8MB file named:
    winamp58_3660_beta_full_en-us.exe
(I already have this version of Winamp installed so I have not
proceeded to execute this file - so user beware, but I vaguely
recall softonic being okay in the past)

At the bottom of the Winamp playlist, click on the "MISC" button. Then
click on "MISC OPTS." Then click on "generate HTML playlist." It still
    works like it always did.

I have Windows 10 on my desktop and laptop, unable to upgrade to 11. I
hear they're coming out with Windows 12 before the end of the year, so
I'll wait till then to buy new ones.

Incidentally I have to express this opinion: Don't ever buy a Lenovo
computer. Both of mine are Lenovos, and both of them required major
repairs within 90 days after I bought them. Never again.

    Thanks Geoff & Diane.

I do have 5.8, and it works like a charm generating the HTML playlist.

    Thanks again

I still use Musicmatch, but it doesn't work on anything after Windows
XP, so I have two laptops with XP, both with lots of memory and huge
hard drives. My music is on both of them, and when one of them dies I
buy another one. This way I always have a backup ready to go when one of
them dies. I also have all of the MP3s backed up on an exterior hard
    drive.

    (as well as Winamp)
I have latest Musicmatch Jukebox (10.00.4033 released in 2006) and
this is compatible with Windows 10 - download page: http://www.oldversion.com/windows/musicmatch-jukebox/
