• I don't think this ever came up before

From Steve Mc@21:1/5 to All on Fri Aug 23 09:55:18 2024
This came up on my bike ride today:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-cNdG_sXkU

I've never really isolated much on the background singing, but I do feel
that the Jordanaires, who were on many of Elvis' records, did a very
nice job in complementing his vocals/records. And for me, too many to
actually chose from as the better ones.

Do any of you have any background singing that stand out, either from
the Jordanaires, or even from other artists, or vocal groups ?

I'd imagine the vocal groups would dominate any list like this.

Interesting. I haven't heard that in years. Not a very common one, but
    good catch.

Thanks Steve, I'll seek out your 4 remakes that I've prefixed with *.

From my library, I enjoy the remakes by:

    Colin Hicks
    Rivieras
Retreds (otherwise ordinary but I like the prominent percussion)
    Johnny Canalles
    Johnny Candle
    Collins Kids
The Keil-Isles [Early Rock & Roll From New Zealand]
Llyod Arnold & The Rockin' Drifters [Wildcat Jamboree! Radio
Broadcasts, Corinth, MI, 1958 to 1959]
    Jerry Lee Lewis
    Judas Priest

    Exactly--a *few* times.
I was thinking of mentioning the times Bo Diddley used backing vocals,
but that was more than a few, and it was always a different group.

Perhaps I should also mention the Raelettes. Or are we only talking
    about male groups?
