    Excellent track.

    Fats Domino|Ain’t It Good|Imperial LP9065|1959 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OlRyz10KXo

Here is what I came up with.

    Would You - Fats Domino
Very good version (a 7) of a song done first by Dave Bartholomew (an 8). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxPjTnxNO4M

Beyond The Sea - Bobby Darin
Not on a single until 1960.

Let The Good Times Roll - Ray Charles
Not on a single until,1960, and the full version was never on a single.

    What'd I Say - Ray Charles
Single version was a short edit of the full masterpiece.

Believe What You Say - Ricky Nelson (Jordanaires)
Single from 1958 does not have the Jordanaires.

Don't Let It Go - Bo Diddley
Very good track from "Go Bo Diddley."

You Don't Love Me - Bo Diddley
    same comment as above.

Traveling Stranger - Little Anthony & The Imperials
Not on a single until 1961.

The Story of Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley
Bo had WAY more good album tracks than Chuck, who mainly had weak
    throwaways as his album tracks.

Nasty Boogie - Champion Jack Dupree
Jack had a very good album in 1959. "Blues From The Gutter" on Atlantic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scLbQWfcUG0

    Dancing Girl - Bo Diddley
    Another good one for Ellis.

A Long Vacation - Ricky Nelson
Not on a single until 1963.

Drink of Wine, Mop. Mop - Sticks McGhee
From a various artists Folkways album called "On The Road." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kiBrnqcwHg

    Stack-O-Lee - Champion Jack Dupree

    Excellent track.

    High 8 here

High 8 for me. His highest ranking LP track on my 1959 list

    Yep I agree

    Ricky Nelson|You'll Never Know What You're Missin'|Imperial LP9082|1959

Never heard this before, it's just 1 5 for me.

I first heard this in the UK Emile Ford 1960 version (the guy that had a
#1 here with "What Do You Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For"). Didnt
find out about Ricky's original version till years later

    A 7 for me.

'Twas the flipside of a reissue of "La Bamba" here on London in 1962

I have both of these as 7's (Bartholomews in 1956)

Beyond The Sea - Bobby Darin
Not on a single until 1960.

One of his very best. A 9 in 1959

Let The Good Times Roll - Ray Charles
Not on a single until,1960, and the full version was never on a single.

    It's 10 for me in 1959

    What'd I Say - Ray Charles
Single version was a short edit of the full masterpiece.

Records don't come any nearer to 11's than the full version of this!!

Believe What You Say - Ricky Nelson (Jordanaires)
Single from 1958 does not have the Jordanaires.

I don't care for the addition of the group. It lends nothing to the
performance IMO. I'll stick with the single

Don't Let It Go - Bo Diddley
Very good track from "Go Bo Diddley."

    A solid 8

You Don't Love Me - Bo Diddley

I show both "My Story" (the 45) and "Story Of Bo Diddley" on "In The
Spotlight" LP as 1960. 45cat and discogs show 19690 too

Nasty Boogie - Champion Jack Dupree

    Stack-O-Lee - Champion Jack Dupree

I have the Dupree LP listed as 1958 (Discogs agrees)

    Dancing Girl - Bo Diddley
    Another good one for Ellis.

I have the "Have Guitar Will Travel" LP in 1960 (so does Discogs)

A Long Vacation - Ricky Nelson
Not on a single until 1963.

Never cared for this one not on my list

Drink of Wine, Mop. Mop - Sticks McGhee

The single sounds like it's missing something to me. Maybe because When
I heard it as an oldie it was the one with the Jordanaires, and that is
the one I had on the Legendary Masters double LP too. Never knew that
the single did not have the group until maybe like 20 years ago.

The Story of Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley

I fixed the year on the album in Discogs. Unlikely that the ad would
mention that the single is from the album in August if the album had
been out since 1958, plus no mention of the album anywhere in 1958.

Okay, "My Story" is the same song as "The Story Of Bo Diddley." It was
"My Story" as a single in January 1960 on the flip side of "Road
Runner." Then in May of 1960 it came out as "The Story of Bo Diddley" on
the "In The Spotlight" album. So it's NOT an album track at all as it
was out on a single 3 months before the album.

Okay, so I moved both "Road Runner" and "My Story" to 1960 as the single
was reviewed in the first week of February in Cash Box. I had the single
as 1959 based on both songs being shown as 1959 releases on the Chess Bo Diddley Box, but with a February 1960 review I think it's more likely
that it was not out yet in late 1959.

So Roger, you need to move all of the "Have Guitar Will Travel" songs
from 1960 to 1959, and also all of the "Blues From The Gutter" songs
from 1958 to 1959. Have fun!

So Roger, you need to move all of the "Have Guitar Will Travel" songs
from 1960 to 1959, and also all of the "Blues From The Gutter" songs
from 1958 to 1959. Have fun!

    Gee thanks! :-(
