From RWC@21:1/5 to All on Sat Sep 14 12:26:06 2024
a Bruce List randomly chosen for this exercise:

    1 ¦ Shake, Rattle And Roll ¦ Joe Turner - 54
    2 ¦ I'm In Love Again ¦ Fats Domino - 56
    3 ¦ Long Tall Sally ¦ Little Richard - 56
    ...
    1010 ¦ Baby Don't Go ¦ Sonny & Cher - 64
    1011 ¦ Long Leannie Mama ¦ Lightnin' Slim - 58
    1012 ¦ San Francisco ¦ Scott McKenzie - 67

Please note, any text after '<number> ¦ ' is not touched.

The Auto Numbered list will look like this
    - both in Word *and* when copied elsewhere:

    1. Shake, Rattle And Roll ¦ Joe Turner - 54
    2. I'm In Love Again ¦ Fats Domino - 56
    3. Long Tall Sally ¦ Little Richard - 56
    ...
    1010. Baby Don't Go ¦ Sonny & Cher - 64
    1011. Long Leannie Mama ¦ Lightnin' Slim - 58
    1012. San Francisco ¦ Scott McKenzie - 67

This is the procedure, which only has to be done one time only
    for each list:

*Create a new Word document for list (unless it already exists)
. copy and paste manually numbered list into a blank Word document

    *Remove all existing numbers*
. place cursor on a blank line at top of list
(create a blank line if you have to)

. press Ctrl H for Find and Replace
    click More >>
ensure that 'Use wildcards' box is checked
in 'Find what' type (without quotes): '^13[0-9]{1,4} ¦ '
in 'Replace with' type (without quotes): '^13'
    click Replace All

    *Auto Number the List*
. press Ctrl A to select/highlight the entire list
. Home > Paragraph > click on Numbering icon

*Make gap after Number Consistent for Entire List*
. click anywhere on page to remove any highlighting
. right-click on any list number and select Adjust List Indents
. change 'Follow number with' to Space (we don't want tabs)
    . click OK

*Remove Blank Lines in List when 100, 200... is Reached*
    click More >>
ensure that 'Use wildcards' box is UNchecked
in 'Find what' type (without quotes): '^p^p'
in 'Replace with' type (without quotes): '^p'
    click Replace All

    THAT'S IT!

*Test by Deleting, Inserting, and Adding Lines (i.e. song, artist...)*
(for me, these list edits worked perfectly)
