Don't think I ever heard it before. I just listened to it on Youtube.
I'll say this, it's not real good, but he's certainly done far worse.
I'll give it a 5, pretty good. Pretty good sax. When I saw it listed I
just figured that it must REALLLY suck with that title. I see it got to
#30 on BB from an EP from the legendary movie "Kid Gallahad."

The newest ROOTS ROCK RADIO is archived for two weeks at the link below.

    Here's the playlist:

    2. EVERYBODY’S TRYING TO BE MY BABY, Carl Perkins

We've mentioned the 1936 Rex Griffin original on this classic before https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYx7doEJuZk

There was also this 1959 version by The Suades ft. Rosie Stevens https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6sSKc1waes

(with a version of "Wrong Yo Yo" on the flip)

    4. TWIST AND SHOUT, The Isley Brothers

Talking of original versions this surely has to be among the worst
(especially with Spector's name attached to it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCi5GIUSzFY

    8. WILL YOU LOVE ME TOMORROW, The Shirelles

Here's where they sit in my 1960 Femme top 10 faves

    1. A Fool In Love Ike & Tina Turner
    2. At Last Etta James
    3. Will You Love Me Tomorrow Shirelles
    4. Bye Bye Baby Mary Wells
    5. I Just Want To Make Love To You Etta James
    6. Tonight's The Night Shirelles
    7. All In My Mind Maxine Brown
    8. Angel Baby Rosie & Originals
    9. A Good Man Irma Thomas
    10. I Shot Mr. Lee Bobbettes (Atlantic version)

    10. GRANDDADDY’S ROCKIN’, Mac Curtis

His best single IMO. Sady not released here. We only ever got the one
Mac Curtis single in UK "You Ain't Treatin' Me Right" on Parlophone
    label

    13. SOLDIER OF LOVE, Arthur Alexander

Released here in UK as "Soldiers Of Love" (plural). For long time I
thought that was the proper title. Whatever,it's among his best!!

    14. IT AIN’T THE MEAT (It’s the Motion), The Swallows

One of the very first American r&b vocal group records to get a UK
release (appeared on a Vogue label 78 only release here in 1951)

    https://www.popsike.com/78RPM-VOGUE-RECORDS-V2136-The-Swallows-It-Aint-the-Meat-Roll-Roll-Pretty-Baby/181640214040.html

    17. APACHE, The Shadows

At the risk of turning this into something of a Britfest here's my pick
as the best UK instrumental to come out of our era - great guitar
instrumental by Jerry Lordan that wipes out the Bert Weedon original and
pisses all over the really limp Jorgan Ingmann version

    18. KING OF THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD, Elvis Presley

Pretty ordinary Elvis number from the movie "Kid Galahad" following a
trend started by his "Wooden Heart" which would see him descend into
real 101% junk with progressively worse movie song shit

    23. LET ME HELP YOU, The Wil-sons

Here's a very nice one that I wasn't familar with before. From 1961 and
on the Highland label that bequeathed the world Rosie & The Originals.
Not bad at all,I added it to my 1961 list as a 7. Thanks Dean!

    27. SHE’S GOT ME HOOK, LINE AND SINKER, Smiley Lewis

One of the very best things he ever did.#57 on my 1956 faves list and
    rated a 9

    29. A CERTAIN GIRL, Ernie K-Doe

IMO this was the best thing that Ernie ever did

Here's a UK version from 1965 by one of my best customers in my taxi--
Billy Walker (not to be confused with the US country guy of that name)
who was the tops in his field for a while---but let us say as a singer
he was a pretty neat boxer (UK champ for a while back when) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du5dEE446WM

    38. END OF THE ROAD, Jerry Lee Lewis

Classic Jerry Lee but here's the original version from the 1929 King
    Vidor movie "Hallelujah!"

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1CGrnp15IY

    41. ROCKIN’ N THE GRAVEYARD, Jackie Morningstar

Brings back memories of Sheriff Norm K who never tired of telling us
how this was one of his very favorites from his record collection

    43. DEAD MAN’S STROLL, The Revels

One I've always liked from way back since I found it on UK Top Rank in
some junk shop for pennies. It was "Midnight Stroll" then but 'twas the
same song (they had to change the title on orders from Dick Clark if it
was to be featured on Bandstand). It's #137 on my 1959 list and an 8

    46. NO ONE KNOWS, Dion & The Belmonts

I liked most of their records including this one. Always thought that
Dion had one of the better white voices in rock 'n' roll. But over here
this bad boy was the best selling version (not content with covering "A Teenager In Love") he also covered this
