Never heard it before and don't like it at all very wimpy. Not
comparable with his famous guitar work on Connie Francis' "Lipstick On
Your Collar" one of the best solos ever

Where did you hear it? I couldn't find it on youtube.

What's with this new "shorts" thing in YouTube now?

Is there a way of making the mp3 come out normally?

You didn't need to post it. It doesn't deserve to be heard. I played a
little of the 45 before I packed it up. That's why I sarcastically asked
if it was on your 57 instrumental list.

Roger, this was new to me too. I didn't even know that "shorts"
existed as such, a format mostly intended for short impactful videos
made for *mobile phones*. Anyway, posters of single music tracks with
a square video are now impacted because YouTube has recently extended
the duration limit for a "short" from 60 seconds to 3 minutes and it
assumes a "short" if under 3 minutes and the video is square-shaped.

Hopefully, Roger, there will be a massive outcry and YouTube will
soon change its algorithms (the code logic in its computer programs).
If you solve this problem without YouTube making any changes,
please let us know what you did, thanks.

I asked Google's AI Gemini (like Microsoft's AI Copilot) the following question:

disturbingly, previous "normal" looking music postings have now been automatically converted to "short" looking, presumably because the
video is under 3 minutes and square shaped; help! can this conversion
    be stopped or reversed?

    Reply:

Given your constraint of using the same square image for all videos,
here's a detailed approach to optimizing your YouTube metadata to
minimize the chance of your music videos being incorrectly categorized
    as Shorts:

    1. Title Optimization:

Emphasize "Music Video": Include this term prominently in your titles.
Example: "Artist Name - Song Title (Music Video)"

    2. Tag Optimization:

    Prioritize Music-Related Tags:

Artist Name: Include the artist's full name and any relevant aliases.
Song Title: Include the exact song title and any variations (e.g.,
    with or without features).
Genre: Include specific genres (e.g., "Indie Rock," "Pop," "Hip Hop"). Mood/Tempo: Include relevant terms like "Upbeat," "Chill," "Acoustic,"
    "Fast Tempo," "Slow Jam."

    3. Description Optimization:

    Detailed Description:
Provide a comprehensive description of the song, including lyrics,
artist background, and any relevant information.
Include "Music Video" in the description.
This helps YouTube understand the nature of the content as a
    full-length music video.

These strategies aim to minimize the risk of incorrect categorization.
However, there's no guarantee that YouTube's algorithms won't
occasionally misclassify your videos, especially with the current
dynamic nature of their categorization system.
By implementing these detailed metadata optimization strategies, you
can significantly increase the chances of your music videos being
recognized and presented correctly on YouTube.

Thanks for this. I guess we just have hope enough folk complain to make
YouTube drop the whole scheme. Don't hold your breath tho'
