Not really, but it got me wondering.

I'm guessing there wasn't much of a Car Culture and/or Surf Culture of
songs on the East Coast, and in the UK.Probably predominately just a
    California thing ? Am I correct ?

Never heard of this before, it's good.

The Car clubs I know of around here are not about music so much, but
when there is nusic it's 50s stuff, doo wop, rockabilly.

New to me too---as these kind of songs go it's not bad at all

You're right that--tho several "car culture" records sold okay
here--there wasn't that much of a local car culture craze.Certainly
nothing remotely on the scale of the West Coast USA. And it certainly
didn't show up much in the UK music scene (tho the Who did a couple of
American car songs including "Bucket T")

As far as surfing is concerned most of the UK coast line is unsuitable
but surfing has become popular in recent years in certain UK spots that
have the right waves--such as Cornwall (especially on the Atlantic
    facing coastline)

When you say "the east coast" you probably mean the northeast. They
certainly have "surf culture" in Florida, for example. My daughter went
to college in Florida and to my amazement the school had a competitive
surfing team. I didn't even know that was a thing.

Like Bruce and Roger I never heard of this record before. Unlike them I
    don't like it.

I do, however, have a friend who drives a red Impala. Doesn't look like
    that one, t

    It's OK with me.

Where I grew up in Ohio there were several car clubs when i was in
high school ('55-'59). Hot rodders, while not being predominnat, were
around and we were certain to notice their hopped up rides. We had
    bikers too.
One club was "The Kleen Kar Klub" (KKK?), rhw other was "Satan's
Angels." Although they might have been more of a clique than about
    cars.

When I stared driving in '64, I think they were mostly done around
here.  My brother was in The Shaft Snappers, and I actually have the
plaque ( a caveman snapping a shaft over a campfire) that they installed beneath the rear window.
