True story: the first time I heard this, I thought they were singing
"Rape Earl." And I was like, "What the fuck???"

    LOL!!

Believe it or not we got BOTH Jivers Aladdin singles released over here
    on Vogue
label---where they take their places as two of the rarest UK singles
from the 50's that there are

I like this version better too, but I never thought it would be your
    favorite Aladdin record.

    16. Please Don't Go Floyd Dixon - 1953

Great record, but it's not on Aladdin. Save it for your Specialty list.

    19. Beal Street On Saturday Night Calvin Boze – 1951

Did not know this until Diane and I went to Memphis and heard it at the
R&B museum there. And yes, they left the second e off of Beale on the
    label.

Yep first heard both "Chicken Shacks" in the late 60's and tho both are
very good this one is the best IMO. Its been a top favorite ever since

    16. Please Don't Go Floyd Dixon - 1953

Great record, but it's not on Aladdin. Save it for your Specialty list.

My bad! I forgot he switched to Specialty on this one after a couple of
years with Aladdin. Move everything below it up a place and make the new
#25 "Waiting And Drinking" by this next guy..........

I can't recall if I knew this one before you mentioned it on here but
its likely that you put me on to it. And yea I knew about the "Beale" mis-spelling especially somewhere I have a pic of me standing under the
    street sign in Memphis

My favorite Amos Milburn record by a mile is "Down The Road A Piece."
I can (and do) listen to it four times in a row. It's the best version
of that song by anyone. And yes, I admit I first heard it by the
    Rolling Stones.
