I've never heard of this orchestra or pianist before, but this is quite different to my old ears than any other version of Rhapsody In Blue that I have ever heard. At first, I was quite put off, but after a bit I reconsidered... it is, after all, a
jazz composition, and improvisation is the backbone of jazz, isn't it?
I doubt that this would ever be anyone's favorite version, but it is nevertheless a pretty interesting listen... but I predict that others here will disagree.
