• Urban Legend? Beethoven music to shoosh away teens

From Pluted Pup@21:1/5 to All on Fri Apr 21 16:16:16 2023
More of the journalism about classical music scaring away
undesirables, usually without any notion of what is
actually played as if all classical music is the same.
This one from BBC Magazine at least narrows it down to
Beethoven, but still doesn't say what is being played,
just a distant speculation from the journalist:

    Largo Louts

Beethoven has been called into action to
quell an outbreak of unruly behaviour in
north Wales. With groups of teens regularly
going on the rampage in Wrexham city
centre, staff at the local branch of McDonalds
have taken to playing the German's music
from 5pm every evening in the hope that
they might disperse -- nothing, it seems,
deters a hoon quite like as well as a feisty Allegro
    con brio in C Minor.

Catnip is far more effective and cheaper.

Or maybe they should all be pluted.
