Beginner asks, "3 Radios?"
Posted: 19 Mar 2022 05:41 PM PDT
https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/ti97ch/beginner_asks_3_radios/
Good day all,
I’m a beginner who started looking into HAM and Radio to achieve the
below: Speak with family within a 25 mile radius Make overseas contacts
for fun Be ready to receive and transmit information should the great go
off line. Listen to short wave for news, weather, etc. 5 listen to police, aviation, public works, and marine as a scanner
So…I’m thinking I need THREE RADIOS
A scanner : I’m looking at this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S9H8YH3/?coliid=I3CLX87DUBJTBY&colid=18WOXUMECVZSL&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
A short wave radio: I’m looking at this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HXKR479/?coliid=I20NRVC736PM3W&colid=18WOXUMECVZSL&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
A ham radio to transmit and I’d get my tech license
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06VSNWYYX/?coliid=I2PO726UGAWTLS&colid=18WOXUMECVZSL&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I’d love to know if I’m thinking this through correctly.
