Radio Frequency Spectrum Licences

The Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (ICASA) issues lic ences for radio amateurs, NOT the South African Radio League (SARL)! Pay
your licence fee to ICASA and NOT to the SARL!

Radio Frequency Spectrum Licences must be paid by midnight on Thursday 31
March 2022!

Radio Amateurs and Radio Clubs, it is your responsibility to pay your li
cence fee for your own call sign, the Club call sign and the Club repeat
er. The licence fee for 2022/23 is: 1 year - R166.00; 2 years - R317.00; 3
years - R455.00; 4 years - R579.00 and 5 years - R692.00.

A. Credit Card. If you are registered on the ICASA Customer Portal
(https://sarl.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u'b05a8cba9589bf8d019e5 d3&id2e1b2c91a&eœe7bd785b), you can pay by credit card and
almost immediately get a copy of your new licence.

B. Electronic Fund Transfer. You can pay your licence fee by EFT
- ICASA, Nedbank Corporate Client services, Account no. 14 62
00 29 27, Branch 146245. Note: Use YOUR ICASA license number no and cal
l sign, e.g., "10098765 - ZS75RZS" as the paym
ent reference. Send a copy of the EFT payment to specrev@icasa.org.za (mai lto:specrev@icasa.org.za) .

If you are registered on the ICASA Customer Portal, upload a copy of the
Proof of Payment to the system. The ICASA officials will check the paymen
t against the bank statement and if satisfied will then approve your licen
ce which you can download a day to two later.

C. Not yet registered on the ICASA Customer Portal. You are tender
ing for trouble. The process to register on the Customer Portal was sent o
ut by SARL Communication on 21 April 2021 and can be found on the front pa
ge of the SARL web site.

Carry out the EFT before midnight on 31 March 2022 and send a copy of the
Proof of Payment to specrev@icasa.org.za (mailto:specrev@icasa.org.za) .
Keep the Proof of Payment in a safe place, it is your proof that the li
cence has been paid.

Then, wake-up and go and register on the ICASA Customer Portal as soon a
s possible.

Amateur Licences managed by the SARL

On 29 January 2022 and e-mail was sent to all radio amateurs whose licence
is managed by SARL, this covers the last 6 RAEs. As per the welcome let
ter sent to successful candidates following the RAE, the SARL is current
ly managing your Amateur Radio Licence because of limitations on the ICASA
system. However, it is your responsibility to pay your licence fee dire
ctly to ICASA as explained above.

Once you have completed the EFT, forward the proof of payment to ICASA a
t specrev@icasa.org.za (mailto:specrev@icasa.org.za) as well as to the SAR
L Administrator at admin@sarl.org.za (mailto:admin@sarl.org.za) You may al
so send a copy to the RAE Manager at rae@sarl.org.za (mailto:rae@sarl.org.
za) Please use "ICASA Licence payment - "your lice
nce number and call sign" as the subject. Once we receive the proo
f of payment, it will be uploaded to the ICASA online system for approva
l. When approved we will forward you the licence.

Unfortunately, many of these Radio Amateurs have not sent a copy of the
Proof of Payment to Kelley Dorey, the SARL Administrator and thus the I
CASA system cannot be updated; no licence will be issued. Please send the
proof of payment to Kelley as soon as possible.

How to change your legacy licence
(Clubs, please assist those radio amateurs who have not yet registered!)

All amateurs with the legacy license are required to register on the new I
CASA Customer Portal. You are required to register even if your current le
gacy licence is due to expire in a few years' time.

Follow this simple step by step procedure to register

On the right hand side of the page click on register.
Create a new account, i.e., e-mail address and insert a password, th
en confirm that password. Radio Clubs, use the e-mail for the secretary
of the Club or other Committee member.
As soon as you submit the registration you will receive an e-mail with a l
ink that you must click to verify the registration.
Please look in your Junk folder if you do not receive the e-mail.
After completion you can log into the system.
The first time that you start to use the system it will prompt you to crea
te a legal entity by capturing all your personal details.
Uploading a copy of your ID book in the link provided at the bottom of the
registration page. Note: only PDF documents are accepted.
After submission it will be subjected to approval by the Authority.
After approval by the Authority, you will receive an e-mail indicating t
hat applications can be submitted.
Click on the Manage button on the main page under Radio Frequency Spectrum
.
Click on the Amend Legacy Radio Frequency license Button.
Capture your license number, excluding all the dashes, then upload the
HAREC and HF certificate. If you do not have these certificates, then u
pload a copy of your current or old license in place of the HAREC and HF c ertificate. If an old, expired license then upload the proof of payment
as well.
The Authority will then complete the next step and return it to you for ve rification.
Verify for correctness and submit.
The Authority will then finalize the process and issue an electronic licen
se that can also be downloaded on your Manage page

Die Onafhanklike Kommunikasie Owerheid van Suid-Afrika (OKOSASA) reik lise nsies uit vir radio amateurs, NIE die Suid-Afrikaanse Radioliga (SARL) n
ie! Betaal jou lisensiefooi aan OKOSA en NIE aan die SARL nie!

Radio frekwensie spektrum lisensies moet teen middernag op Donderdag 31 Ma
art 2022 betaal word!

Radio amateurs en Radio klubs, dit is jou verantwoordelikheid om jou lis ensiefooi vir jou eie roepsein, die Klub-roepsein en die Klub-herhaler t
e betaal. Die lisensiefooi vir 2022/23 is: 1 jaar - R166.00; 2 jaar - R317
.00; 3 jaar - R455.00; 4 jaar - R579.00 en 5 jaar - R692.00.

n byna onmiddellik 'n afskrif van jou nuwe lisensie kry.

- ICASA, Nedbank Korporatiewe Kliëntedienste, Rekening n
r. 14 62 00 29 27, Tak 146245. Let wel: Gebruik JOU OKOSA-lisensie nomme
r en roepsein, bv. "10098765 - ZS75RZS" as die betalings-verwysi
ng. Stuur 'n afskrif van die EFT-betaling aan specrev@icasa.org.za (mailto :specrev@icasa.org.za) .

As jy op die ICASA-kliënte portaal geregistreer is, laai 'n afskrif
van die betalingsbewys op na die stelsel. Die OKOSA-amptenare sal die bet aling teen die bankstaat kontroleer en as hulle tevrede is, sal hulle jo
u lisensie goedkeur wat jy 'n dag tot twee later kan aflaai.

C. Nog nie op die ICASA-kliënte portaal geregistreer nie. Jy is opsoe
k na moeilikheid. Die proses om op die Kliënte portaal te registreer
is op 21 April 2021 deur â-˜n SARL Kommunikasie uitgestuur en kan o
p die voorblad van die SARL-webwerf gevind word.

Voer die EFT voor middernag op 31 Maart 2022 uit en stuur 'n afskrif van d
ie Bewys van Betaling na specrev@icasa.org.za (mailto:specrev@icasa.org.za
) . Bewaar die Bewys van Betaling op 'n veilige plek, dit is jou bewys d
at die lisensie betaal is.

Word dan wakker en gaan registreer so gou as moontlik op die ICASA-kliÃ
«nte portaal.

Amateur lisensies bestuur deur die SARL

Op 29 Januarie 2022 en e-pos is gestuur aan alle radioamateurs wie se lise
nsie deur SARL bestuur word, dit dek die laaste 6 RAE'e. Soos per die ve rwelkomings-brief wat aan suksesvolle kandidate gestuur is na aanleiding v
an die RAE, bestuur die SARL tans jou Amateur radio lisensie weens beper
kings op die OKOSA-stelsel. Dit is egter jou verantwoordelikheid om jou li sensiefooi direk aan OKOSA te betaal soos hierbo verduidelik.

Sodra jy die EFT voltooi het, stuur die bewys van betaling aan OKOSA by
specrev@icasa.org.za (mailto:specrev@icasa.org.za) asook aan die SARL Adm inistrateur by admin@sarl.org.za (mailto:admin@sarl.org.za) . Jy kan ook '
n afskrif aan die RAE Bestuurder stuur by rae@sarl.org.za (mailto:rae@sarl .org.za) . Gebruik asseblief "ICASA-lisensie betaling -
"jou lisensienommer en roepsein" as onderwerp. Sodra ons
die bewys van betaling ontvang het, sal dit na die OKOSA aanlyn stelsel
opgelaai word vir goedkeuring. Wanneer dit goedgekeur word, sal ons die
lisensie aan u stuur.

Ongelukkig het baie van hierdie radio amateurs nie 'n afskrif van die beta lingsbewys aan Kelley Dorey, die SARL-administrateur, gestuur nie en d
us kan die ICASA-stelsel nie opgedateer word nie; geen lisensie sal uitger
eik word nie. Stuur asseblief die bewys van betaling so gou moontlik aan K elley.

Hoe om jou erfenis lisensie te verander
(Klubs, help asseblief die radio amateurs wat nog nie geregistreer het n
ie!)

Alle amateurs met die erfenis lisensie moet op die nuwe OKOSA-kliënte
portaal registreer. Daar word van jou verwag om te registreer selfs al ga
an jou huidige erfenis lisensie oor 'n paar jaar verval.

Volg hierdie eenvoudige stap-vir-stap-prosedure om te registreer
1. Registreer as 'n gebruiker by https://sarl.us5.list-manage.com/track/cl ick?u'b05a8cba9589bf8d019e5d3&id…eb05aeec&eœe7bd785b
2. Aan die regterkant van die bladsy klik op registreer.
3. Skep 'n nuwe rekening, dit wil sê, e-posadres en voeg 'n wagwo
ord in, bevestig dan daardie wagwoord. Radioklubs, gebruik die e-pos v
ir die sekretaris van die Klub of ander Komiteelid.
4. Sodra jy die registrasie indien, sal jy 'n e-pos ontvang met 'n skake
l wat jy moet klik om die registrasie te verifieer.
5. Kyk asseblief in jou Junk-lêergids as jy nie die e-pos ontvang nie
.
6. Na voltooiing kan u by die stelsel aanmeld.
7. Die eerste keer dat jy die stelsel begin gebruik, sal jou vra om 'n r egsentiteit te skep deur al jou persoonlike besonderhede vas te lê.
8. Laai 'n kopie van jou ID-boek op in die skakel wat onderaan die registr
asie bladsy verskaf word. Let wel: slegs PDF-dokumente word aanvaar.
9. Na indiening sal dit onderhewig wees aan goedkeuring deur die Owerheid.
10. Na goedkeuring deur die Owerheid sal jy 'n e-pos ontvang wat aandui da
t aansoeke ingedien kan word.
11. Klik op die Bestuur-knoppie op die hoofblad onder Radiofrekwensiespekt
rum.
12. Klik op die "Amend Legacy Radio Frequency" lisensie-kn
oppie.
13. Vang jou lisensienommer vas, al die strepies uitgesluit, en laai d
an die HAREC- en HF-sertifikaat op. As jy nie hierdie sertifikate het nie
, laai dan 'n afskrif van jou huidige of ou lisensie op in die plek van
die HAREC- en HF-sertifikaat. As 'n ou lisensie wat verval het, laai da
n ook die bewys van betaling op.
14. Die Owerheid sal dan die volgende stap voltooi en dit aan jou terugstu
ur vir verifikasie.
15. Verifieer vir korrektheid en dien in.
16. Die Owerheid sal dan die proses finaliseer en 'n elektroniese lisensie
uitreik wat ook op jou Bestuur-bladsy afgelaai kan word.
