THE SARL TOP BAND CERTIFICATE
The Top Band Certificate is sponsored by the South African Radio League. I
ts aim is to encourage more 160 m QSOs with southern African countries. Al
l contacts after 1 January 1960 are valid for this award. Contacts must be
established in the range of 1 800 to 2 000 kHz. ZS amateurs can transmit
between 1 810 and 2 000 kHz.
South African stations must submit confirmation of having contacted at lea
st six different Southern African call areas, of which at least five mus
t be in the Republic of South Africa. The sixth contact may be from the re maining South African call area (ZS) or from any of the bordering countrie
s (Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, eSwatini or Zimbabwe).
DX stations within 1 000 km of the borders of South Africa need to confirm
contact with three call areas in the RSA. Valid confirmations are paper Q
SL cards, SARL electronic QSLs or LoTW. Visit www.sarl.org.za/public/aw
ards/ for all the information. It is easier than the WAZS!

In the 100-page issue we look at the 8 metre band and then drop down to 1
